Author and illustrator Laurie Keller will share and sign her newest book, Potato Pants! at this author event guaranteed to delight children of all ages!

In Potato Pants!, a potato and his eggplant nemesis struggle to find the perfect pants. This is a hilarious, heartwarming tale of forgiveness by bestselling, Geisel-Award winning creator Laurie Keller. 

With pre-order of the book, you will receive a potato to decorate and mail to a special loved one at a special VIP (very important potato) event before the signing. 

Other books by the author, including The Scrambled States of America and We Are Growing! A Mo Willems’ Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! Book, will be available for purchase and signing prior to and at the event.

Line numbers will be given with purchase of Potato Pants!. Please bring no more than two books from home for the author to sign.

Meet author Artie Knapp as he introduces his newest picture book for ages 4-8, Little Otter Learns to Swim. This beautifully illustrated story is about a baby river otter that learns to swim, dive, and play in its natural habitat. At first encouraged by her mother, the little otter soon practices on her own, quickly learning to escape shoreline predators and to find her way to the security of home.

author Michelle Houts signs "Count the Wings"

Author Michelle Houts will be visiting blue manatee to discuss and sign her book, Count the Wings: The Life and Art of Charley Harper. 
Count the Wings is the first book for middle-grade readers about influential Cincinnati artist Charley Harper’s life and work. Author Michelle Houts worked closely with the Harper estate to include full-color illustrations, plentiful supplemental materials, and discussion questions that will intrigue and engage young readers.
Joining Michelle Houts at this event will be Brett Harper, an accomplish artist and son of Charley Harper. 

This event is open to the public. 
Copies of Count the Wings, and other fantastic titles by Michelle Houts, will be available for purchase and signing.

On Sunday, September 23rd at 2pm, author / illustrator Loren Long will appear at blue manatee children’s bookstore in Oakley for a musical storytime performance and signing. He will be premiering his newest picture book for ages 4-8, There’s a Hole in the Log on the Bottom of the Lake, a fresh twist on the classic children’s song There’s a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea. Filled with repetition and tongue-twisters built for giggles and fun read-alouds, this is “one to visit again and again” (Publishers Weekly).

There’s a Hole in the Log on the Bottom of the Lake and other titles written and/or illustrated by Loren Long will be available for sale on the date of the event. Ticketed line numbers will be given to customers who pre-purchase the new book.
