Amazing Amy's JUNIOR Writing Club

Amy Dean, a certified teacher and writing instructor, is expanding her popular Writing Club for ages 4-7. Join her for a writing workshop with an emphasis on nurturing skill development and encouraging budding imaginations to bloom!

This week, after reading The Teddy Bears' Picnic, we will be writing our own stories of picnic treats and adventures--Just in time for any Memorial Day picnics and cookouts! 

Themes change weekly, so come back often!

-Ages 4-7 (Pre-K- 1st grade)

Perfect for kids under the age of four and a grown-up!

We'll move, sing songs, and mostly enjoy time together with Miss Meghan, a veteran music educator.

Create a gorgeous flower in two mediums with Miss Kelli from blue manatee and Sandra Gross from Brazee Street Studios. Using the artist Hundertwasser as our inspiration, we'll make a collage flower to take home today and a glass flower to be fired and picked up later!

Swimmy Celebration

Sun. June 9th @ 2pm

blue manatee is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Leo Leonni's "Swimmy" with a special art project, fishy cookies, and a dramatic reading of the story.

Pajama Party story time

Fri. June 14th @ 7pm

Join us as we share sleepy stories and songs for anyone who's still awake!

-Free event for Oakley After Hours. blue manatee bookstore and decafe will be open until 9pm.

Perfectly Pastel

Wed. June 19th @ 1-3pm

Learn how to draw your favorite animal in a few simple steps with artist Robin Hartmann. Once you have developed your sketch, we will begin to layer pastels on top of black paper. The results will be outstanding!

Our friends from The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati will bring the picture book "Otis and the Puppy" to life in this acting workshop for ages 4-8.
