July is National Blueberry Month! In honor of this tasty fruit, we are hosting a blueberry bonanza event that is sure to be a treat. We will be reading some of our favorite books that highlight the beautiful blueberry and will create a fun craft that will sure to be refrigerator worthy. We will wrap up this event by enjoying some sweet blueberries on a hot July day.

Meet Kammie on First: Baseball’s Dottie Kamenshek author, Michelle Houts

Michelle Houts, author of the new series, Biographies for Young Readers, will be here reading and signing her first addition to the series, Kammie on First: Baseball's Dottie Kamenshek! In this real-life tale we are inspired by Cincinnati's very own, Dorothy Kamenshek, who rises to national level fame as a star first base player in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League during World War II. Later, fame came again to Dottie when in 1992, Geena Davis portrayed a player loosely based on her in the hit movie A League of Their Own. With Cincinnati hosting the All-Star game this season, fans of all ages will sure to enjoy the spirit of America's pastime this event will invoke. Girls and boys, alike, will love hearing about a young athlete with a dream - one that is held by many.
