Oakley After Hours

It's one of our favorite times of the month as we here in Oakley extend our hours, and provide fun and entertainment for all. Stop by the blue manatee from 7-7:30 for a sing-a-long with Miss Katie and friends. We will also be open until 9pm this evening as well (and the cafe for that evening coffee/tea/smoothie craving)! Diary of Wimpy Kid #4 Cover & Title!

Here's the cover and title for the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, to be released on October 12th, 2009! You can pre-order this book, just like you can pre-order any title from blue manatee, just by giving us a call or stopping by.

July Pick of the Month

Moon Rabbit, by Natalie Russell (Viking; imprint of Penguin)

Although this little white rabbit loves her busy life in the city, she often looks up at the moon, wondering if there could be another little rabbit for her to befriend. One day, after a nap in the park, she hears beautiful music which leads her to a little brown rabbit. They spend the day in the park, and become great friends.The two rabbits have such a fantastic time together, but the little white rabbit misses the city and goes back home with the memories of her new friend.

ManaTween Book Club

Blue Manatee and Kiki Magazine have teamed up to bring you ManaTween Book Club!
Girls 9-12 years are invited to join this new seasonal book club. On the last Sunday of each month from 3:00-4:00pm, we will discuss a featured book and have a snack.

$30 seasonal pass
includes books, snacks, and a subscription to Kiki magazine

Join us for a New Orleans-inspired party in celebration of Jack and Annie's latest adventure: Magic Tree House: A Good Night For Ghosts by Mary Pope Osborne. We'll have a "Big Easy" snack, and enjoy a Jazz demo by a local Jazz musician.

In this installment, Jack and Annie travel to New Orleans where they run into some real ghosts and discover the world of jazz when they meet a young Louis Armstrong!
